SJV Workcamp Coordinator Vacancy

Solidarités Jeunesses Vietnam (SJ Vietnam) is an international youth NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) that promotes values of solidarity, peace and tolerance through youth citizenship projects to improve society during and after the voluntarism. SJ Vietnam is a full member of CCVIS (Coordinating committee of international voluntary service) (at UNESCO) and NVDA (Network for voluntary development in Asia-Pacific), a partner of Alliance of European voluntary organizations. SJ Vietnam is an independent, non-political and non-religious organization open to everybody without any distinction of nationality, race, philosophy, financial resource, education or sex. In 2009, SJ Vietnam officially hosted 500 international volunteers and counted 5000 local members aged between 15 and 35 years old. Workcamp is an international short-term project (from 1- 4 weeks) participated by international volunteers to work for local community development and intercultural exchanges.

SJ Vietnam is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate for the full-time position of Workcamp coordinator

Primary duties:

• Schedule and coordinate program of workcamps in Vietnam
  
• Organize and manage the workcamp activities (by recruiting camp leaders, leading group of international volunteers, working with local authorities and local community)
  
• Organize training courses for volunteers
  
• Meet and work with local community, NGOs to strengthen and seek for new partnerships, new project sites
  
• Other tasks as required

Minimum qualifications:

• Fluency in English.
  
• University degree relevant field
  
• Understanding about international voluntary service
  
• At least 1 year experience in volunteering/working or internship for voluntary projects or NGO
  
• Good communication, organization skills, conflict management skills
  
• Team working skills
  
• Computer competence in MS word, excel and updating website
