Solidarités Jeunesses Vietnam (SJ Vietnam) is an international youth NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) that promotes values of solidarity, peace and tolerance through youth citizenship projects to improve society during and after the voluntarism. SJ Vietnam is a full member of CCVIS (Coordinating committee of international voluntary service) (at UNESCO) and NVDA (Network for voluntary development in Asia-Pacific), a partner of Alliance of European voluntary organizations. SJ Vietnam is an independent, non-political and non-religious organization open to everybody without any distinction of nationality, race, philosophy, financial resource, education or sex. In 2009, SJ Vietnam officially hosted 500 international volunteers and counted 5000 local members aged between 15 and 35 years old.
Youth Center is a new project developed from Youth House-a school for disadvantaged children at Fisher Village, Red River by SJ Vietnam’s volunteers to coordinate cultural and voluntary activities for youth and children development.

SJ Vietnam is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate for the full-time position of Youth Center Project coordinator

Primary duties:

  • Manage daily activities in Youth House – the class for disadvantaged children and work with local people in Fisher Village
  • Set up and run Youth Center stably
  • Manage volunteers working in the project, divide tasks, monitor and evaluate performance of them
  • Call for donors and sponsors for project
  • Take care of other activities to support local community benefited from the project:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Fluency in English
  • University degree relevant field
  • Understanding about international voluntary service
  • At least 1 year experience in volunteering/working or internship for voluntary projects or NGO
  • Good communication, organization skills, conflict management skills
  • Experience in working with the children is one priority
  • Team working skills
  • Computer competence in MS word, excel and updating website

Testing period working is from 20 March, 2012 to 20 May, 2012 with 70% of salary paid.
